How long does a driveway take to surface?Most residential driveways can be surfaced in a single day. Larger projects involving excavation, sub-base preparation, kerbing and two-course asphalt may take 2-3 days. We provide a clear programme with every quotation so you know exactly what to expect and when.
What type of asphalt do you use for driveways?We typically use a 20mm binder course for the structural layer and a 6mm SMA (Stone Mastic Asphalt) surface course for the wearing layer. SMA provides excellent durability, skid resistance and an attractive dark finish. The exact specification depends on ground conditions and vehicle usage — we advise during the quotation stage.
Do you need a track paver for a small driveway?Even small driveways benefit from machine laying where access allows. Our compact Vögele Super 1303-3i can work in surprisingly tight spaces. Where a paver genuinely cannot access the site, our experienced hand-laying team can still deliver an excellent finish — but where possible, machine laying always produces the better result.
